Agribusiness / Forestry Scholarship Program
Purpose
The goal of Wisconsin Public Service Foundation Inc. Agribusiness/Forestry Scholarship
is to help young people of our service territory develop skills, leadership
abilities and technical knowledge to meet the challenges of forestry, farming
and farm-related activities. Each year, up to 10 students will be awarded a
$700 scholarship.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be a high school senior graduating in the current academic year.
- Meet the admission requirements of the selected university
or technical college (see list below).
- Be the son/daughter of a customer with a primary residence in Wisconsin Public
Service Corporation or Upper Peninsula Power Company territory, or the son/daughter
of a Wisconsin Public Service or UPPCO employee.
Awards
Up to ten $700 non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to recipients
selected on a competitive basis. The scholarships given will be a combination
of four-year non-renewable college scholarships and two-year non-renewable
technical college scholarships.
Selection
A committee consisting of professional agricultural leaders will make the selection
of scholarship recipients.

Deadline
Applications must be received by February 1, 2008.
Notification
Award recipients will be notified of their selection by June.
Scholarship monies will be sent directly to the award winner's technical college or
university, and applied directly to school costs associated with the beginning of
the 2008 fall term.
