Upper Peninsula Power Company opens thousands of acres of land for public use. We want everyone to enjoy the beauty and recreation these lands offer. But misuse of our public lands can be a real problem.
If you see anyone abusing UPPCO lands, or to report problems, please call us at 800-562-7680 or 906-449-2013 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.
We need your eyes, your ears and your help.
Careless Actions Hurt Everyone
Here is some damage we have seen on UPPCO lands:
- Vandalism. Damage such as shooting signs is becoming all too common. These are the actions of vandals, not responsible hunters.
- Littering. Trash left in natural areas lasts a very long time. And the land loses its natural beauty and charm.
- ATV abuse. Motorized vehicles aren’t allowed on UPPCO lands, but that doesn’t stop some from leaving their ugly marks. Using ATVs destroys plant life, increases erosion and ruins animals’ habitat.
- Garbage dumping. When people dispose of garbage like old tires and appliances on natural lands, they do more than create an eyesore. Garbage like this can release substances harmful to fish and wildlife.
If you enjoy using Upper Peninsula Power Company lands, you can help by reporting concerns to UPPCO or to local law enforcement.
