Terms and Conditions of the e-Bill Delivery and Payment Service
Enrollment Requirements
The service's policy with respect to Enrollment Requirements will be in accordance
with the CheckFree Terms and Conditions that may be viewed at
www.mycheckfree.com.
- Upon activation, you will no longer receive a paper bill unless your
UPPCO account is in shut-off status. Instead, you will receive a monthly
e-mail reminder when your bill is available online.
- Auto payments are setup to be paid on due date or when the bill is received.
Auto Payments are triggered by the e-Bill being delivered.
- If it is past your bill's due date, you must use the one-time payment (manual
release) option to ensure we receive your payment on time.
- If you are enrolled in QuickCheck,
you have two options to pay your e-Bill account:
- Continue paying through QuickCheck but receive your bill(s)
electronically (Paying through e-Bill will result in double payments).
- Contact us
to cancel QuickCheck and pay your bill through e-Bill. This process will take 1-2
business days for completion.
- You may unenroll at any time. Any future auto payment or scheduled payments will
be canceled.
Bill Delivery and Presentment
- Activation - Upon activation of the e-Bill feature, you will no
longer receive a paper bill unless your UPPCO account is in shut-off
status.
- Notification - UPPCO will use its best efforts to present all of your
electronic bills promptly. In addition to notification on our Web site,
UPPCO will send e-mail notification to the e-mail address listed on your
account. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that this information is
accurate. In the event you do not receive notification, it is your
responsibility to log on to our Web site and check on the delivery of new
electronic bills. You are responsible for ensuring timely payment of all
bills.
If e-mails are returned as undeliverable to UPPCO, UPPCO reserves
the right to return your billing to paper. Any scheduled or future
payments will be canceled. You may re-enroll at anytime after correcting
any e-mails address errors.
- Cancellation of electronic bill notification - UPPCO reserves the right
to cancel the presentment of electronic bills at any time. You may cancel
electronic bill presentment at any time. Depending on your bill cycle, you will
receive a paper bill via U.S. mail within the next 45 days. Please make sure to
pay your final e-Bill on the due date.
- Non-Delivery of electronic bill(s) - You are responsible for ensuring timely
payment of all bills. Copies of your last five (5) delivered bills are
available at our Web site. For bills older than six (6) months,
please contact us.
Any discrepancies or disputes regarding the accuracy of your electronic bill
summary or detail must be addressed by calling 800-562-7680.
This Agreement does not alter your liability or obligations that currently
exist between you and UPPCO concerning your utility usage, and other
products and services.
Bill Payment Options and Scheduling
The service's policy with respect to Bill Payment Scheduling will be in accordance
with the CheckFree Terms and Conditions that may be viewed at
www.mycheckfree.com.
Your e-Bill can be paid in one of two ways:
- You may make payments by manually releasing a payment from your checking or
money market account. You can select whether you want your payment posted
immediately to your UPPCO account, or you can schedule your payment for
a future date. Scheduled payments can be made and canceled up to 1-2 business
days before the payment due date.
- You may set up Auto Payments by using a checking account or money market
accounts. Payments will be process on your bill due date. Auto Payments must be
set up one day before your due date in order to be applied eo your energy account
on the due date.
Payments may be presented to your band as early as 3 a.m. on your due date. It is
your responsibility to ensure funds are availabe for payment.
When scheduling bill payments, you must select a payment date that is no later than
the actual due date reflected on your billing statement unless the due date fall on a
non-business day; if the actual due date falls on a non-business day, you must select a
scheduled payment date that is at least 1-2 business days before the actual due date.
Scheduled payment dates should be prior to any late date or grace period. In certain
rare situations, a bill payment may take four (4) business days to be processed, in
which case the service will notify you within the application.
Payment Authorization and Payment Remittance
The service's policy with respect to Payment Authorization and Payment Remittance will be in accordance
with the CheckFree Terms and Conditions that may be viewed at
www.mycheckfree.com.
When the service receives a payment instruction, you authorize the service to debit
your payment account and remit funds on your behalf. You certify that any payment
account you add to your payment methods is an account from which you are authorized to
make payments, and any payment you make using UPPCO e-Bill will debit a payment account
that you are legally authorized to use.
The service will use its best efforts to make all your payments properly. However,
the service shall incur to no liability and any Service Guarantee shall be void if the
service is unable to complete any payments initiated by you because of the existence of
any one or more of the following circumstances:
- If your payment account does not contain sufficient funds to complete the
transaction or the transaction would exceed the credit limit of your overdraft
account.
- The payment processing center is not working properly and you know or have been
advised by the service about the malfunction before you execute the
transaction;
- You have not provided the service with the correct payment account information,
or the correct name, address, phone number; and/or,
- Circumstances beyond control of the service (such as, but not limited to, fire,
flood, or interference from an outside force) prevent the proper execution of the
transaction and UPPCO has taken reasonable precautions to avoid those
circumstances.
Provided none of the foregoing exceptions are applicable, if the service causes an
incorrect amount of funds to be removed from your payment account, the service shall
be responsible for returning the improperly transferred funds to your payment account,
and, if applicable, for any late payment related charges applied to your UPPCO
account.
Service Termination, Cancellation or Suspension
In the event you wish to cancel UPPCO e-Bill you may do so by visiting
our Web site. Any payment(s) the service has not already processed can be cancelled on-line.
All scheduled payments will not be processed once UPPCO e-Bill is canceled.
UPPCO may terminate or cancel your e-Bill service at any time. Neither termination
nor suspension shall affect your liability or obligations under this Agreement.
- To delete UPPCO as a biller, but keep your CheckFree account open:
- Login at www.uppco.com/service/ebill.asp
- Click "Delete" next to the biller (Wisconsin UPPCO) that you want to delete.
The delete biller account confirmation page opens. The title of this page changes to reflect
the name of the biller you are deleting an account for.
- Click "Yes" to delete UPPCO e-Bill
- PLEASE NOTE: It is possible due to the biller's billing cycle, that you may receive an
e-Bill after you've deleted the account. If this happens, make sure to pay your bill by some
other means, such as sending a check. It can take a billing cycle to receive paper statements
from the biller through the U.S. mail again. Contact the biller if you have any questions
about paying your bill.
- To close your CheckFree account completely:
- Login at www.uppco.com/service/ebill.asp
- From the left-side navigation menu, select "My Profile"
- Click on the folder icon labeled "My Service"
- Click on the "Cancel Your Service" link at the bottom of the page, then "Yes" to confirm
- You may also contact CheckFree directly at 1-800-564-9184 or
contact us.
Payment Cancellation Requests
Auto Payments and manually release payments can be canceled if hasn't been
processed. You will need to contact your financial institution to place a stop
on the payment or contact biller. Your financial institution may charge a fee
for this service.
Stop Payment Requests
UPPCO cannot assist with a stop payment request for any bill
payment in process or that has completed/cleared. You must contact your
financial institution.
Service Fees and Additional Charges
Any financial fees associated with your standard deposit accounts will
continue to apply. You are responsible for any and all telephone access fees
and/or Internet service fees that may be assessed by your telephone and/or
Internet service provider.
Failed or Returned Transactions
In using UPPCO e-Bill, you are requesting UPPCO to make
payments for you from your payment account. If we are unable to complete the
transaction for any reason associated with your payment account (for example,
there are insufficient funds in your payment account to cover the transaction),
the transaction may not be completed. In some instances, you will receive a
return notice from UPPCO.
Address or Banking Changes
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that the contact information in
your user profile is current and accurate. This includes, but is not limited
to; name, address, phone number(s) and e-mail address(es). Changes can be made
within the application. UPPCO is not responsible for any payment
processing errors or fees incurred if you do not provide accurate payment
account or contact information.
Information Authorization
You agree that the information you provide to UPPCO can go through
a verification process. You agree that UPPCO reserves the right to
obtain financial information regarding your payment account from your financial
institution (for example, to resolve payment posting problems or for
verification). In addition, you agree that the service reserves the right to
request a review of your credit rating at its own expense through an authorized
bureau.
Errors and Questions
In case of errors or questions about your UPPCO e-Bill transactions, you
should notify us as soon as possible by calling 800-562-7680.
Disputes
In the event of a dispute regarding UPPCO e-Bill service, you agree to
resolve the dispute in accordance with these terms. You acknowledge and agree that
these terms set forth are the complete and exclusive statement of the services to
be provided, and these terms supersede any proposal or prior agreement, oral or
written, and any other communications between you and UPPCO relating to the
subject matter of this agreement. These terms may only be modified in writing and
may not be modified or altered verbally by any UPPCO employee.
You may not assign this agreement to any other party. The service may assign this
agreement to any future, directly or indirectly affiliated company. The service may
also assign or delegate certain of its rights and responsibilities under this
agreement to independent contractors or third parties.
Captions
The captions of sections hereof are for convenience only and shall not control or
affect the meaning or construction of any of the provisions of this Agreement.

Password and Security
You agree not to give or make available your password or other means to access your
account to any unauthorized individuals. You are responsible for all payments you
authorize using UPPCO e-Bill. If you permit authorized users or other persons
to use UPPCO e-Bill or your password or other means to access your account,
you are responsible for any transactions they authorize. If you believe that your
password or other means to access your account has been lost or stolen, or that someone
may attempt to use UPPCO e-Bill without your consent or has transferred money
without your permission, you must notify UPPCO by calling
800-562-7680. Also, please contact your financial
institution to report any unauthorized financial transactions.
Privacy Policy
The service's policy with respect to use of your information will be in accordance
with the CheckFree privacy statement that may be viewed at
www.mycheckfree.com.
Alterations and Amendments
This agreement, applicable fees and service charges may be altered or amended by
the service from time to time. In such event, the service shall provide notice to
you. Any use of this service after the service provides you a notice of change will
constitute your agreement to such change(s). Further, UPPCO may, from time
to time, revise or update the applications, services, and/or related material, which
may render all such prior versions obsolete. Consequently, the service reserves the
right to terminate this agreement as to all such prior versions of the applications,
services and/or related material and limit access to only the service's more recent
revisions and updates. You authorize us to send or provide by electronic communication
any notice, communication, amendment or replacement to the agreement, or disclosure
required to be provided orally or in writing to you. You agree to receive any
electronic communication provided to you and will not attempt to avoid receiving any
such communication. You are deemed to have received any electronic communication
provided to you when they are made available to you.
These terms set forth UPPCO's entire liability and your
exclusive remedy. In no event shall UPPCO be liable for any direct, indirect,
special, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages, including lost profits even
if advised of the possibility thereof, arising in any way out of the installation, use,
or maintenance of the equipment, software, and/or the service. I have read and
understand the foregoing agreement and agree to be bound by all its terms.
CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION
OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE
DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MIGHT HAVE
ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
This agreement and the terms for the use of the Web site shall be governed and
construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Wisconsin, without giving effect
to any principles of conflicts of law. The terms of this agreement shall remain in
effect until such time that they may be updated.
