What is an interval meter and will I need one?
An interval meter is used to record how much energy is being used at any given time. This is measured in kilowatts (kW), usually in 15-minute or half-hour increments. Larger business customers may find it helpful to install interval meters to help them understand and make energy buying decisions. There is a charge to install interval metering equipment.

What is “load profiling?”
A load profile is a graphic of average energy use for a specific type of customer. If you do not have an interval meter, your energy supplier will use a load profile to estimate your energy use. The load profile uses weather, time-of-day and day-of-week factors to calculate average use.
