The purpose of the Dollars for Doers Program is to encourage our employees and retirees to volunteer for qualifying nonprofit organizations and provide one of the benefiting organizations a grant on behalf of the employee or retiree. The Dollars for Doers program is funded by UPPCO.
Employees and retirees who volunteer can earn up to a $300 grant per year for the organization of their choice. A qualifying nonprofit organization is defined as being located in UPPCO’s service territory and tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Dollars for Doers focuses on organizations assisting with arts and culture, community and neighborhood development, human services and health, and the environment. Contributions to faith based organizations are not eligible for inclusion in the Dollars for Doers program at this time.
The Dollars for Doers fiscal year is January 1 through December 31. Requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the program’s annual limit is reached.
An employee or retiree needs to submit a Dollars for Doers request form to the program coordinator by December 31 of each year.
