Budget Billing
Even out your energy bills so they’re manageable all year
Budget Billing is designed to eliminate the highs and lows in your energy bills, so your bill remains stable from month to month. It’s simple and free!
How It Works
1
We calculate your estimated yearly energy cost by looking at last year’s energy use or by calculating use manually. Then we divide it into 12 equal payments.
2
When you reach your 6th and 9th months, your account is reviewed, and your payment amount may be adjusted to more closely reflect your actual usage.
3
Your bill for the 12th month will then include any difference between what you paid and the actual cost of the energy you used throughout the year.
4
If you paid too much, we will apply a credit to your bill. If you paid too little, you can pay the balance in full or call us to arrange a payment plan for the difference.
Wish to enroll in Budget Billing, or remove your account from Budget Billing?
Contact us at (906) 449-2013.
For extra convenience, add Automatic Payment to your Budget Billing plan. This will reduce your monthly bill paying to a simple entry in your checkbook. Log in to your online account to register for Automatic Payment
Summary Billing
Consolidate multiple bills into 1 statement with 1 envelope
If you receive multiple bills from UPPCO, Summary Billing can simplify things. Summary Billing is a free service that consolidates your accounts into one summarized monthly bill with a single due date.
Summary Billing Restrictions
- Summary Billing cannot be used with e‑Bill Paperless Billing, because the Summary Billing page cannot be processed online.
- Summary Billing must be paid in full monthly.
Seasonal Billing
If you use little to no energy during the winter or summer, you can choose to receive only 6 monthly bills instead of 12. The winter months are billed November through April, and the summer months are billed May through October.
Benefits
- Fewer bills
- Less postage
- Receive bills only when using your property
- No need to keep the meter accessible when you’re not using the property
- Please contact us with questions or to sign up.
The seasonal rate for energy use is the same as our standard rate. But because you’re only being billed for 6 months, you’ll see double customer charges during those 6 months. Ultimately, your annual costs are the same as with year-round billing. However, you enjoy the convenience of fewer bills.

We understand circumstances can sometimes make it difficult to meet your monthly bills. If you have a past-due balance, contact us as soon as possible to set up payment arrangements.

- Your request to make Payment Arrangements can be denied if you still owe money on a previous payment plan with us.
- If you do not make the payments in the Payment Arrangements agreement, your service may be disconnected.
