All appliances must be in working condition. Parts may be removed for moving/transporting purposes, but must be in working condition.
- Why? UPPCO’s Energy Efficiency Program has the goal of reducing electricity consumption of our system, and our Appliance Recycling Program contributes to that goal by encouraging customers to recycle appliances that are old and inefficient for a rebate. Older appliances that are still in working condition are a good indicator that the unit(s) have been used on our electric system recently, and will result in the appliance not being plugged in again. If the appliance is not in working condition and intact, then there is no way to know when it may have been plugged into our electric system last.
