We believe in community, and we believe in sharing. That’s why Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) has always given financially to local nonprofits. In 2015, UPPCO contributed $107,897 to nonprofits organizations, associations and worthwhile causes located within our service territory.
UPPCO contributions were made in the following categories: Arts and Culture; Community and Neighborhood Development; Education and Lifelong Learning; Environment; and, Human Services and Health.
Outside of these categories, UPPCO teamed up with its employees to provide $43,097 alone to the 2015 United Way Campaign. The company also gave $2,665 worth of grants to charities that UPPCO employees and retirees volunteered their time for last year.
Each year, UPPCO awards such grants to eligible entities located within the UPPCO’s service territory.More than 150 organizations representing various interests received funds from UPPCO in 2015. In addition, UPPCO employees and retirees also assisted charities through various means.
Upper Peninsula Power Company believes in community and helping contribute to the growth, prosperity and quality of life in the U.P. Anything UPPCO can do to make the region a great place to live, work, retire and raise a family is what we are all about. UPPCO also appreciates and calls attention to how our employees invest of themselves, as they always have, through volunteerism in the community.
