As a a critical infrastructure company, we are working hard to deliver the reliable power customers need, while helping to protect the health and well-being of our communities.

Safety Measures

We have implemented preventive measures in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance to help keep employees and customers safe and help ensure we have adequate resources to maintain reliability.

  • The company is taking a variety of measures to help protect employee health, including dividing essential work teams to different locations where possible and implementing remote working for all those who can.
  • UPPCO employees may be wearing masks when working in the field. They may also wear other special protective clothing and will ask that you help them maintain a distance of at least 6 feet. For the protection of yourself and our employees, please help us maintain social distancing, even when outside your home.
  • Customers should be aware that UPPCO has equipment on your property we need to access, such as your meter, poles and transformers.  An employee or UPPCO Contractor may come onto your property wearing proper personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • UPPCO line crews will continue to respond to power outages and other emergencies immediately.
  • At this time, company technicians will continue to complete requested service orders – such as new electric connections and requested disconnections.
  • Locating of Underground UPPCO facilities will continue through the MISS DIG 1 call system.
  • UPPCO will continue with Line Clearance activities via its Contractors and may be on your property or road rights of way near your home. Please provide adequate clearance from these crews for your safety.
  • UPPCO Crews and contractors will continue to perform needed maintenance and other such work on our system to maintain reliability.  This will include needed tree trimming and other system improvements and upgrades.
