Who Qualifies for MEAP Assistance?

MEAP eligibility is based on household income and other factors. As an example, a typical family of four may qualify if the household monthly income is below $5,852.

What to Bring

Attendees who have not applied for assistance through MDHHS or MEAP since October 1, 2025 are encouraged to bring the following documents to help complete their applications on-site.

  • Proof of all household income from the past 30 days
(required for affordable payment plan enrollment or one-time assistance)
  • And proof of participation in at least one qualifying program, such as: HHC, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), State Disability Income, SNAP, TANF, WIC, Head Start

Having these documents available can speed up the process and help caseworkers determine eligibility more quickly.
