UPPCO CONTINUES RESTORATION EFFORTS ON THANKSGIVING STORM
November 26, 2025 | Outages, Press Releases
Marquette – Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) crews are working diligently to assess damage and restore power across the Northwestern Upper Peninsula. Since the storm began early this morning, crews have restored power to 10,693 customers. UPPCO crews will continue working through the night with additional contract crews scheduled to be deployed tomorrow morning, Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The cause of most outages is downed power lines resulting from the high winds and heavy snow. We’re prioritizing emergencies and 911 calls at this time and are working through the night to respond to those calls.
UPPCO is anticipating that some outages will continue into the night and is in direct contact with county emergency managers.
Never approach or touch a downed power line or anything in contact with one. If you see a downed line, stay at least 35 feet away and call 9-1-1 immediately. To report an outage, UPPCO customers should call the Customer Care Center at (906) 449-2011, email customerservice@uppco.com, or through accessing their online portal at uppco.com. Customers may experience longer than usual wait times when contacting the Customer Care Center due to weather related call volumes.
UPPCO is the Upper Peninsula’s largest electric utility serving approximately 52,000 customers across 4,460 square miles. UPPCO and its predecessors have excelled at providing dependable service and safe, reliable energy to its valued customers for more than 135 years.
