UPPCO MAKES PROGRESS RESTORING POWER AFTER BLIZZARD

March 17, 2026  |  Outages

Marquette – UPPCO has continued working closely with county road commissions to gain access to roads that were impassable during the blizzard. High snow drifts and whiteout conditions have made restoration efforts extremely challenging.

“Since the storm began, we’ve been able to restore power to 646 customers. Crews were dispatched early this morning and continue to assess outages and restore power as quickly as conditions permit,” said Dan Freeborn, UPPCO’s Manager of Communications & External Affairs. “Safety is paramount in restoration efforts, especially during weather events like this. We value the partnerships we have with local officials to assist in getting the lights back on.”

If you are traveling and encounter line crews along the side of the road, remember to slow down and give them extra space. Customers are again reminded to never approach or touch a downed power line or anything that may be in contact with one. Stay at least 35 feet away and call 9-1-1 immediately to report a downed line.

To report an outage, customers may call UPPCO’s Customer Service Center at (906) 449-2011, email customerservice@uppco.com, or access their online account at uppco.com.
