Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) held a series of Stakeholder Forums to receive public input leading to the development of its Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). UPPCO’s plan will be filed with the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) in 2018.
An Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) is a process that is used by a utility to evaluate how it will best serve its customers’ future energy needs. The process is transparent and utilizes predictive modeling to evaluate several resource options that meet the future energy needs of the customers. Examples of the questions that will be answered through the IRP include:
Stakeholder Forums were held at the following four locations throughout UPPCO’s service territory (between 3:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time) in January 2018. Customers and interested Stakeholders had an opportunity to meet with UPPCO staff who are involved in the Integrated Resource Plan process, as well as representatives from the company’s Regulatory, Generation, Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) and Customer Service departments.
